Mike Hughes
Mike sings traditional songs, and songs in the traditional style, mainly from Northumbria and Ireland. Songs about social justice crop up occasionally, as well as numbers on the quirks of human nature.
The late Ewan MacColl has always been one of his favourite writers and performers. More latterly, Colum Sands (and family) and Vin Garbutt have contributed to his repertoire. Regional artists such as the Keelers, the Wilsons, Pegleg Ferret have also played a part.
Mike also sings with the Tyneside Maritime Chorus.
