Ray Derrick

Ray was born and bred in Cramlington. He started singing at the Bay Horse, Cramlington in 1967 (very talented for 3). Originally influenced by the Clancy Brothers (loved the jumpers). He has performed with The Northerners for over 40 years and his claim to fame was performing with the group on Opportunity Knocks in May 1971.

He now likes to sing his own material mainly inspired by local heroes, culture and events. Jiva kindly produced a CD for him which escaped and returned to the wild.
